Description:
The New Prosperity Initiative (NPi) is a Boston-based media organization that pairs storytelling with new media to publicize the efforts of people and organizations doing socially innovative work to end poverty and build prosperity is seeking Media Production Interns.
NPi stories take the shape of interviews, photo essays, videos, and podcasts and are distributed both in print and online. A large amount of this internship would be assisting NPi staff with production of above mentioned media. For example, editing existing video clips and audio files into a short videos and podcasts. This position is UNPAID and will average 10 hours per week (2-3 hours office based work, 7-8 hours independent remote work).
The ideal candidate should have a passion for social justice, community change, the nonprofit community, and media. He/she should also have:
• Willingness to think critically and solve problems
• Strong organizational ability and detail-oriented approach
• Ability to work independently
• Experience creating and editing media files
